On December 12, 2024, a workshop was held with students from the Milutin Milanković Secondary Medical School in Belgrade. The workshop focused on developing media literacy skills related to healthcare, particularly concerning oncology patients.
Students participated in interactive activities, quizzes, and role-playing scenarios designed to simulate real-life healthcare situations. Through the "patient-doctor" role-play, they explored the significance of clear and accurate communication, emphasizing the essential role of media literacy in supporting oncology patients.
The workshop utilized online materials developed within the MedLit project, accessible on the official project website. These resources aim to raise awareness about the impact of media content on health-related decision-making and equip future healthcare professionals with critical thinking skills.
The session successfully combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, helping students better understand the importance of evaluating and applying trustworthy medical information. This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the MedLit project, which seeks to enhance media literacy in healthcare contexts through innovative and interactive learning methods.
